Choosing an AR-10 Stock

Tube first.

Tube Type

A2 kits include their own rifle tube. Adjustable stocks need a mil-spec carbine tube; if your lower has a rifle tube, only the A2 fits.

Tube Diameter

Mil-spec is 1.148"; commercial is 1.168". Stocks here are mil-spec. A commercial tube leaves them loose.

Rifle Use

Scoped precision .308s favor the A2 for cheek weld and stability. Carbines and hunting rifles favor an adjustable stock for handling.

Folding Adapter

The Gen 4 adapter adds 1.3" of length of pull and is machined for aluminum lowers; expect to snug the set screw on polymer lowers.
